It Ain't Food Network, but they eat it....Tuesday!

This is the recipe that Blaine picked for me to post. The entire family likes this one. We even have some friends that have been asking me to get it to them and every time I think about it I am at work and don't have it. I don't know it well enough from memory to just jot it down like that. But I am copying this from my recipe card so it is correct!

White Chicken Chili
Serves 6

1 lb. chicken, cooked and shredded
1 yellow onion, chopped
1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
2- 15 1/2 oz. cans great northern beans, drained and rinsed under cold water
1-14 1/2 oz. can low fat chicken broth
2-4 oz. can mild green chilies, chopped
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. white pepper
1 c. light sour cream
1/2 c. whipping cream

Heat oil over high heat in the bottom of a stock pot. Add onion and garlic powder and saute until onion is clear, about 5 minutes.

Reduce heat to medium. Add beans, broth, chilies, salt, cumin, oregano and peppers. Stir to blend. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.

Remove chili from heat and stir in sour cream and whipping cream.

Gabgirl...thanks! It is original isn't it? NOT! I decided that when everybody else had it, why not steal it? I guess I didn't get the memo! Hope that's okay!
